Conquest Vacations presented an early Christmas gift to an unsuspecting couple on Saturday, 22 December 2008, just prior to boarding their flight to Cancun for their vacation.
Brent Carnegie and Carla Brake of Conquest Vacations announced, to an excited crowd in the departure lounge at Pearson Airport, that David Meade of Burlington, Ontario was now the owner of a brand new Mazda 3 car. His name was drawn on Monday, 17 December 2007, making him and his wife Sharon, this season’s first consumer winners in the Conquest/Mazda 'Key to Freedom' promotion which continues throughout the winter. Conquest Vacations has already awarded three Mazda cars to travel agents and three more will be given away in the new year. As well, Conquest Vacations will present another consumer with a new vehicle in March 2008.
"When we made the draw on Monday and realized the passengers were leaving this weekend, we thought it would be a lot of fun to meet them at the airport and give them the good news in person," said Brent Carnegie, VP Sales at Conquest Vacations. "Their reaction and the excitement of the other passengers was more than we could have hoped for."
The Meade’s, who booked their holiday with Sell Off Vacations, will take delivery of their new car in January after their two week vacation which they now say will be "better than they could have ever hoped for".
